What do i rely on the camera or the mirror?

Okay each time i take a pic on my cameraphone or digital camera it looks awful but when i look in the mirror i look okay. I look totally different on camera from the mirror. I feel ugly now which one is right?

    I’m the same exact way. The mirror is what you should rely on.

    I got curious so i started asking my family members (who are very honest btw) and i showed them pictures of myself and then stood in front of the mirror with them. They said that i look the same in the mirror as in real life, and in pictures i look different.

    The mirror gives you a mirror image of yourself, and not what others see. What other people see is that image in the mirror, but flipped.

    In the camera, it is what others see and not what you see in the mirror so that could be why you think you look weird because you are not used to seeing yourself that way.
    If you don’t believe me, try flipping a photo of yourself laterally and you’ll see yourself like how you see yourself in the mirror.

    It’s just a matter of getting used to it and no one has a totally symmetrical face so don’t feel ugly or bad about it. When you get used to seeing yourself in pictures, you will feel normal (:

    Also, some people who might look better in pictures than in real life are called photogenic people. But if you don’t, it doesn’t mean you are ugly. It means you look better in real life and that’s good too! Because that’s how your friends view you IN FLESH and that’s how you live. We don’t live through photos!

    Don’t feel ugly if you aren’t photogenic or look weird in photos. It’s okay and a matter of getting used to.

    I think the mirror is more representative of you.

    The camera can change the way you look based on the the way it takes a pictures, lighting, etc.

    I think the “photogenic” people just know a few tricks to looking good. Smile! Don’t slouch and enjoy having you picture taken.
