I’m really serious with this question. The mirror in the bathroom is really big.
Whenever I see the mirror, I just start talking to myself. It became a habit that I do all of the time. I’m scared one day if I start doing that in public bathroom mirror, everyone will think I’m crazy.
The reason why I like doing that is, it releases my stress. My mom always asks why I take so long in the bathroom.
I just need tips to avoid looking into the mirror. Help?
When I’m ready and all dressed up, I can look in the mirror for quick second and that’s it.

I don’t think anything is wrong. I’ve spent my whole life doing the same thing. I cannot pass a mirror without looking. I don’t feel like it’s a bad thing as long as it is not negatively impacting you or people around you.
If it is really bothering you, then you can try to make up your mind to only look in the mirror for no longer than one minute and then go. Stick with your inner goal.

That’s tough….
I had a friend who attempted to not look at herself for a week. Impossible she said. Once she got the hang of not looking in a mirror she started seeing her image in lots of things. Silverware, her toaster, windows, etc. etc.

i’m sure that you know the difference between talking to yourself in your own mirror and talking to yourself in a public mirror. that is actually a really good therapudic tool to talk to yourself in the mirror. if you do get caught doing it in public who cares. odds are you won’t ever see those people again anyway and you just gave them a good story to tell there friends. but if you are really worried about it then just don’t look in the mirror unless you have to. but i’m sure you will be allright. or when you do look in the mirror you can just think the stuff that you want to say. just a thought. hope this helps.

You have a phobia. If you are afraid to look in the mirror, you need both psychotherapy and medical intervention to overcome this irrational fear you have towards your mirror.
Also see http://www.merck.com/mmhe/sec07/ch100/ch100e.html This site lists various types of phobias, but not all. Your fear of looking in the mirror is a form of anxiety. For this, see
http://kidshealth.org/teen/your_mind/mental_health/phobias.html I hope you will gain a better understanding why you have this fear/phobia which is anxiety in a nutshell.
Good luck.
