How do I paint a mirror with water based acryllic paint?

I am trying to decorate mirrors that will go in a public bathroom at a campground, but I am afraid that the acryllic paint that I am using will smear and smudge when the mirror is cleaned with window cleaner. Are there any products out there, such as a sealant or varnish, that I can apply over the painted areas to make it Windex-proof and also NOT fog up the mirror? Please help!

Acrylic paint will come off of glass with any moisture. An oil based enamel might work. But all in all there isn’t much of anything for any paint to grab onto when it comes to glass. You might want to consider etching the glass. There are kits available.

When acrylic dries, it is very tough…will not smear or smudge with light sponging…(no hard scrubbing). If you want, you can apply a clear acrylic top coat to further protect it.
