I’m leaving for college soon and want to hang a full length mirror in my dorm room. However, we’re not allowed to put any nails in the wall. Does anyone have any good ideas for how to hang a lightweight mirror without using nails and without sticking anything permanent to the wall?

I’ve seen mirrors that have these hooky things that go over a door. Mirrors also come in stands so you can have it freestanding (and move it around as needed).

No such thing as lightweight full length mirror. That funtack stuff might work, but you would need a lot of it. Your best bet is to get over yourself and use a smaller mirror, or get a free standing one.

You can’t Nothing will hold the weight. Don’t use double sided tape either. You will wreck the walls trying to scrape it off.

After growing up in rental places, my sisters and I got pretty creative about this stuff. Put a couple of screw eyes in the back of the frame and run a wire or heavy cord between them, like on the back of a painting. Then hang the wire from some existing….thing. If there’s hooks on the wall, use one of those. The bed post of the top bunk, whatever is sticking out that could hold the weight. Or, get one (or two) of those over-the-door hangers http://www.finehomedisplays.com/products.asp?cat=15&source=adwords&gclid=COqcx4y6x5UCFQo2GgodGl-Khw and hang the wire from that. Good luck!
